Most of the people believe in the saying "The early bird catches the worm" so they usually go for an early Christmas shopping before the advent of the season. The majority of us are like most shoppers and will wait until the season starts to begin shopping. Maybe we don't have any time before then and we have to wait for a day off from work after Thanksgiving. Most of the time we simply dawdle and do nothing until the rush starts or when the malls and stores are already decorated and Christmas Carols and song are already playing on the streets that will really indicate that Christmas is already here.

Average Christmas holiday shoppers go out in force and are primarily motivated by the sales that occur during the official Christmas shopping season. These shoppers really believe that Christmas and holiday sales can be an opportunity to get good prices and bargains. Most of the true Christmas bargains are to be found well in advance of the Holiday season.

Average and early shoppers that are going to shop and purchase items during the traditional Christmas shopping season must be aware of the prices of the item and they must compare if the price of the item is lower or fair to its previous price. A shopper who exceeds his/her budget by buying sale items only because they are on discount may also experience ''buyers regret' later about the things bought.

One advantage of being an average or early shopper is that you'll have time to reconsider your purchases. No need for regret if you've changed your mind on something you've bought. But there is a different style of shopper. The late or chronically late shopper is stuck with hoping that 'Aunt Sally' or Grandma will like the gift selected even if the buyer had second thoughts about it after the purchase was made. The late shopper or chronically late shopper is known as the people who realize that it is only five days or a week to go before Christmas day and have not yet bought any gift. Chronically late Christmas shopper is a kind of late shopper and considered as the worse kind of shopper because he or she faces a crisis when a desired gift has to be ordered and the shipping of the item will not reach in time for Christmas day.

While those late shoppers will think that they can benefit from the discounts and lowest markdowns of the season they will also have smaller selections on some products like clothing that will seem a bit worn because of the handling done by the crowd of Christmas shoppers. Even if you need a deadline to kick you into gear you can still create a workable plan for a successful Christmas shopping season. This approach is more about what you can not than what you can do.

If you're late with your Christmas shopping don't limit yourself to looking for items that are hard to find. While retailers will offer shipping in time for Christmas orders usually have to be made before a certain time for example at least 36-72 hours before Christmas. Your items might not arrive in time if you don't order them within that timeframe.

If you do not do your Christmas shopping early in the season you should not depend on sales clerks to dote on you when they are busy. You may well have to find presents without their help. With so many people doing their last-minute shopping just days before Christmas most retailers have a difficult time supplying customers with enough expert employees to help shoppers in any meaningful way.
